► JOB OPENING - PROBATION CLERK (PART-TIME)

TEMPORARY (part-time) POSITION
Southwest Human Resource Agency’s Workforce Development & Training (WD&T) Department is a federally funded program which prepares youth, adults and dislocated workers and justice involved individuals for entry into the labor force. Currently, we are accepting applications for a temporary (part-time) position.
 
PROBATION CLERK
Core Competencies:  excellent organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to plan and prioritize schedule and activities to meet established deadlines and reporting requirements, skilled in the use and operation of software programs including database management, spreadsheet, and work processing applications
 
Duties and Essential Functions: 
  • Assists individuals serviced by Probation Department to complete questionnaires forms and other dockets requiring written information;
  • Assists in the verification of information for court and probation department staff;
  • Performs drug testing of defendants and probationers, as requested by court and probation departments;
  • Performs payment transactions for individuals as ordered by courts for fines, restitution, or support;
  • Uses a computer workstation terminal to enter and retrieve data and information in maintaining program records and to extract information for required reports;
  • Greet individuals in reception area and direct them to appropriate staff or office;
  • Responsible for answering the phone, greeting callers, establishing reasons for calls and resolving issue by contacting appropriate support for individuals.
   
Requirement:  Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or closely related field is preferred.  Equivalent Years of related work experience may be substituted for degree.  Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates.
 
Hourly rate:                  $10-$12 per hour (based on experience/education)
Work hours:                 up to 28 hours per week

► JOB OPENING - HEAD START TEACHER (HAYWOOD COUNTY)

Salary:  Based on education (Minimum salary $12.25 per hr.)
 
Job Duties Include:  Carry out a program of instruction ensuring program policies and procedures are being met for a pre-school classroom of up to 20 children, supervise an Assistant Teacher, make home visits, encourage parent involvement, and work closely with other staff concerning enrollment and meeting the needs of families.
 
Basic Qualifications:   Applicant must possess an AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 credit hours of Early Childhood Education.  Applicant should also possess good written, verbal, and computer skills.  Experience and/or training in working with pre-school children is desired. Must pass physical exam, drug screen, and criminal/fingerprint background check.  Provide proof of auto insurance.

Southwest Human Resource Agency (SWHRA) is currently accepting applications for a Fiscal Director.  SWHRA serves eight counties in the West Tennessee region, Southwest Human Resource Agency endeavors to enhance the quality of life of the less fortunate.                                              
 
FISCAL DIRECTOR
Position Qualifications:  Thorough knowledge of standard accounting practices and procedures pertaining to accounts payable, accounts receivable, internal controls, cost accounting, and financial analysis; knowledge of OMB Circulars A-133 & A-122 pertaining to the financial reporting requirements for non-profit agencies; working knowledge of computer database applications including spreadsheet applications and database management; knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to auditing and disclosure requirements; working knowledge of fixed assets, inventory maintenance, and depreciation and amortization schedules; knowledge of state regulations, grant stipulations and reporting requirements pertaining to non-profit managed programs; supervisory experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent customer service skills.   Applicant must also have strong organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills. 
   
Requirement: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or closely related field and considerable experience in corporate accounting and computerized accounting systems; experience monitoring contract provisions and budgets and supervisory experience.

FOSTER GRANDPARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
 
PURPOSE:
To provide volunteer opportunities for low income persons, age 55 or older, to create support services for children with special & exceptional needs.
 
ELIGIBILITY:
  1. Men & women must be age 55 or older
  2. Applicants must meet Federal Income Guidelines.
  3. Must pass a fingerprint FBI Background check, as well as other criminal background checks.
  4. Applicants must be physically fit & mentally able to serve at least five days per week.
  5. Applicants must have a desire to learn about the needs of children served and want to help with a child’s individual growth & development. 
BENEFITS OF FOSTER GRANDPARENTS:
  1. Stipend payment of at least $106.00 every two weeks ($ 2.65 per hr.).  This money does not affect any Social Security, SSI, rent or other benefits already received.
  2. Transportation is provided free of charge.
  3. Grandparents receive a free hot meal if they work through meal time.
  4. Insurance is provided during travel and work time.
  5. Orientation is provided before a Grandparent begins work.
  6. This is a wonderful opportunity to associate with other seniors and to have children to love and who will love you in return.

The Foster Grandparent Program is funded by the Corporation for National Community Service and Southwest Human Resource Agency.
