What We Do
The mission of Southwest Human Resource Agency is to meet the needs of families and individuals in our service area by delivering social services and resources. Through effective collaboration with federal, state and community partners, we are dedicated to enhancing quality of life, promoting self-sufficiency, and alleviating the effects of poverty.
TAHRA is an established an effective statewide network to deliver social services to our communities. The association is formed by nine Human Resource Agencies, including SWHRA, delivering social services to all 95 counties in Tennessee. Each agency builds on the wealth of program knowledge and experience gained over our 35-year history to strengthen local support, improve relationships with funding sources and governing officials, and help people in need. With our established state-wide network and strong operating infrastructure, TAHRA is the best choice for delivering services to people in need throughout our state. Our agency will be taking Homebuyer applications for a new development at the Whitehall and Dupree Street neighborhood. These homes will target moderate income households. If your family is interested in applying you may pick up applications at the Southwest HRA Community Service Center located at 1124 Whitehall, Suite 201-A, Jackson,TN 38301. Please attach all current income to the application and return to: Southwest TN CDC, P.O. Box 264, Henderson, TN 38340. Once your family is determined to meet income guidelines, we will refer you to a mortgage loan officer to determine your eligibility for a loan. Once you reach this goal you will be involved in the planning of a new home in this area.
