Senior Services Director

Location:  Central Office, 1527 White Ave., Henderson, TN 38340

Entry Level Pay:  $55,491 – $60,000

Purpose:
The Senior Services Director is responsible for the supervision of all aspects of addressing the needs of the elderly population.  The Senior Services Program includes Nutrition, Homemaker//Choices, RSVP, and Foster Grandparent.  This position is accountable to the Executive Director.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a B.A. Degree in Social Services, Gerontology, or closely related field; a minimum of four years’ experience in the delivery of social services (preferably with the elderly) or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the following knowledge, abilities and skills
  • Experience preparing statistical reports and budget projections
  • Supervisory experience
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret programmatic regulations
  • Establish effective program policies and procedures and make timely and appropriate decisions
  • Extensive knowledge of social service programs intended to assist the elderly population (specifically Nutrition, Homemaker/Choices, Foster Grandparent, and Retired & Senior Volunteer) including all regulations pertaining to eligibility, reimbursement rates, quality and delivery of services, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of all operational aspects of providing services to the elderly in a home setting including licensing requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring practices required to insure the proper receipt and expenditure of program funds
  • Thorough knowledge of program monitoring and auditing procedures and protocols for state agencies and grantors
  • Thorough knowledge of supervisory techniques and practices including selection, evaluation, motivation and discipline of staff as well as the ability to effectively supervise and direct the activities of program staff and achieve an optimal level of service to clients
  • Thorough knowledge of grant and proposal application processes
  • Ability to interact in a professional and effective manner with regulatory and licensing staff, co-workers, clients, service providers, and the public
  • Ability to maintain all program related records and related documentation in an organized and accessible manner
  • Ability to make appropriate and timely decisions in response to unusual and/or difficult situations
  • Ability to prepare and submit competitive grants and proposals to various funding sources
  • Skilled in the use of computer software programs including spreadsheets, word processing and database management applications
  • Possession of a valid Tennessee Drivers’ License and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Coordinator

Classroom Aide Chester County Center

Salary: Based on education (minimum $9.59 per hr.)

Job Duties Include:  Assist Head Start Teacher in carrying out a program of instruction for a pre-school classroom of up to 20 children, serve as Teacher Assistant in absence of regular Teacher Assistant, make home visits, encourage parent involvement, and work with other staff concerning enrollment and meeting the needs of families.

Basic Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED required; a Child Development Associate Credential preferred.  Experience/training in working with preschool children desired; must be willing to continue education.  Must pass physical exam, TB screen, drug screen, and criminal/fingerprint background check.

Decatur County Community Service Center Coordinator

National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWG) Contract Coordinator - Temporary Assignment

Southwest HRA is seeking a full-time NDWG Contract Coordinator.  This position is located at 1527 White Ave., Henderson, TN 38340.  The applicant selected to fill this position must have the knowledge and skills to provide oversite and administration of the dislocated worker grant.   Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and decision making skills, strong financial management and administrative skills, accounts payable experience, and skilled in the use and operation of software programs and database management.  Experience managing grants and workforce development programs is also preferred.    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or closely related field is preferred.

SCSEP Coordinator/Homemaker Specialist

This position is full-time (37.5 hrs. per week) and is located at 1527 White Ave., Henderson, TN 38340.  The applicant selected to fill this position must possess the knowledge and skills to manage all aspects of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) as well as provide assistance to the Homemaker Program with new employee hiring, training, and new hire documentation.    Applicants must have effective written and oral communication skills, excellent customer service skills, strong organizational management and administrative skills, effective supervisory skills, and be skilled in the use and operation of spreadsheet and database management programs.  An Associate’s Degree and experience working with low income individuals age 55 years and older is preferred.

HEALTH / NUTRITION ASSISTANT MANAGER

Job Duties Include:  Administrative work assisting with the child health and nutritional aspects of Head Start program.  Assist with health screenings scheduled by Asst.
